Cyber Security R&D at C-DAC
C-DAC with wide experience in R & D has chosen cyber security as one of the priority area proposing to deliver multilevel/multilayered security solutions to safeguard the infrastructure. Solutions already developed in this direction are various Forensics tools, Adaptive Intrusion Detection System, End systems security solution, document security solutions, Steganographic tools etc. These solutions cannot be static as the attacks keep growing with changing times and technologies. Thus C-DAC continues to explore delivering the need of the hour (just-in-time) Cyber Security Solutions.
C-DAC is currently involved in the following R & D projects in the area of Cyber Security. Cryptanalysis is one of the areas in which C-DAC is currently working. With its vast experience and strategic interest in High Performance Computing, C-DAC has taken initiatives in the development of software and hardware for various cryptanalysis/crypto algorithms with the idea of delivering Parallel code for select Cryptanalysis problems, Time/Space optimized VHDL code for cryptanalysis / crypto algorithms and Sequential code for AES, GSM, CDMA cryptanalysis.
The area of developing an effective biometric authentication mechanism is always a security challenge. C-DAC is carrying out R & D in the area of face recognition. It is also involved in the development of asset tracking systems. C-DAC is also involved in the development of steganographic tools, which is of strategic importance for security forces and anti-crime bureaus of our country. Underlying technologies for this challenging area are intelligent pattern recognition algorithms, cryptography etc.
C-DAC has developed over a period of time intellectual base for developing security solutions in chosen areas of National importance; it continues to strive hard to develop state of the art nationally important indigenous security solutions. It emphasizes best practices and standards while developing the security solutions.
